Creativity is the sine qua non of human endeavor. All humans create, whether boldly for everyone to view, or quietly for one’s personal satisfaction. Children are born creative. In discovering their world they are creatively rearranging things that we normally take for granted and would not expect to see assembled in this new and unusual fashion. Every generation reinvents the world in their image and creative stance. That’s why we move forward as a species; the creative juices just keep on flowing. Creativity is a sign of a healthy individual, that is a person who expresses themselves uniquely through their creative endeavors. We know not all artists are well grounded. Although their particular form of creativity can be quite spectacular they can be emotional children in their day to day affairs. Creativity and emotional maturity are inextricably intertwined. They go hand in hand to identify a healthy relationship with the creative genius within. To be creative we have to have access to our feelings. To have our feelings we have to be strong enough to endure the tough ones as well as the joy. Creativity, responsibility, feelings and choicemaking are all linked and are key to moving into Conscious Evolution which is the next step for mankind.

Deeling With Feelings:

Feelings are as essential to our life as thinking and breathing. Feelings provide a roadmap to our emotional state and our progression through various challenges such as grief & loss. Feelings are our lifeblood as human beings. There can be no life without feelings unless you’re a robot. Animals have feelings and demonstrate them to us often. Identifying your feelings and accepting them in a safe and healthy manner will lead you forward. They are ephemeral, and if accepted, will pass without too much upset, except for life’s biggest losses. Then there will be crying involved. Human history holds no record of anyone dying because they cried while feeling sad. However, there have been numerous cases of anger associated with feelings, especially among men. This is the new world. We feel our feelings today and we work through them. Don’t be held back by the old ways of denial and rationalization. Feel what you feel, express it and move on!

Human Beings Bill of Rights:

A Human Being’s Bill of Rights is based on contributions to self-help and personal growth from the Recovery Movement of the 80s and 90s with authors such as John Bradshaw and Melodie Beattie who exposed for us the dynamics, adaptive strategies and inherent woundedness occurring in dysfunctional families. Having a Bill of Rights that is inherent to just being human demonstrates what we need to be fully functioning and how persons from dysfunctional family environments adapted to their fate by actually abdicating their rights in order to survive. Recovery is about reclaiming what is essential to healthy development, in terms of emotional and spiritual healing in particular.

Choicemaking is essential to living. We cannot go through a day without making choices. On the big issues, this is even more fundamental. Our choices determine where our lives are to take us. By refusing to choose we abdicate responsibility. There is no freedom without responsibility. There is no direction to life without making choices. Informed choosing is where you want to be. If you’re intent is to become a fully functioning human being, completely responsible for your own life, then choicemaking is part of every day living. For those already on that path Conscious Evolution is at the door. You are now choosing to make a difference in your life and that of others.

Before you begin any Self-Help program you must make the following distinction between categories of distress and categories of achievement. Categories of distress would include anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. Categories of achievement would include personal growth, career development & creating wealth. The two are quite distinctive yet are intimately related to each other. For example, categories of achievement will be be helped by dealing with self-esteem issues, and hindered by ignoring them. Sometimes the reverse is true, categories of distress such as self-confidence, can be helped by pursuing career development goals. They do work in tandem. However, both must be addressed if success in any area is going to be achieved. Ignore your feelings at your peril!
